How to Adjust the Headlights on a 2007 BMW 328i

1. Park your 328i directly in front of a garage door or other flat, vertical surface.
2. Measure the height from the ground to the center of the headlights. Place a horizontal strip of tape in front of each headlight on the wall at this height. Place a vertical strip of tape in front of each headlight assembly to create a cross, which will be used as a target to aim the headlights.
3. Measure 25 feet behind your flat, vertical surface and place a strip of tape on the ground there. Reverse the 328i until the headlights are directly over this strip of tape. Turn on the headlights and prop open the hood.
4. Look for the two adjustment knobs on each headlight assembly; one is near the top of the assembly and the another is on the back. Insert the Allen wrench into the center of the knob to turn it. Adjust the knob to aim each headlight so that the beam hits the wall within 2 inches of the inner and lower portions of the corresponding tape cross mark.
