PARTS LIST : 1 Wiring harness w/ 15A fuse, 1 Mounting coupler w/ socket, Ty-wrap(s).
QUICK START INSTRUCTIONS : STEP.1 Remove the seat & battery cover. STEP .2 Route wires starting at the battery end and finishing at the bracket. STEP.3 Fasten ty-wraps. STEP.4 Connect red & black wires to socket. Silicone in the coupler. STEP.5 Put everything you took off back on.
DETAIL INSTRUCTIONS :
STEP:1 Remove the seat, battery cover & left side fairing. See the owners manual.
STEP:2 Remove negative battery lead. Remove the positive battery lead. Slide the red cover completely off of the stock battery wire. Slide the cover back over both the stock wire and the fork terminal and attach the red wire. Reattach the battery negative lead. Run the wires down through the gap between the frame rails toward the front of the bike. Make sure it does not rub on the cable for the seat release on the 2002 VTECs. Follow the very large wiring harness from under the seat toward he front of the bike.
STEP:3 Apply the two ty-wraps. Use one to secure the fuse-holder and the other near point. Do NOT allow the harness to directly contact the motor or exhaust. Continue routing the harness between the frame and the motor. Follow the clutch hose out toward the bottom of the steering head tube. Route the harness up into the steering head tube. Attach the black wire to the radiator mounting bolt or other chassis bolt in the area.
STEP:4 Install the fuse in the fuse-holder. The center terminal is plus and the outer ring is negative. Apply either dielectric grease or Vaseline to the spade terminals. Connect the red wire to the positive spade terminals & the black wire to the negative terminal. Open the socket lid and lightly tap the socket all the way down into the steering head tube with a hammer. Protect the aluminum socket face with a rag; do not hit/push on the lid. The ground terminal may interfere slightly with the head tube wall. The plastic on the terminal can be shaved to fit, removed or gently twisted. Attach the harness with the remaining ty-wraps.
STEP:5 Replace covers & seat. Enjoy!
